Inspired by the quiet beauty of lichen-covered twigs, this handcrafted bowl is thrown in stoneware, celebrating the layered textures, bright overlooked colours and circular markings found in the Xanathoria parientina lichen.
Designed and made in small batches, each piece draws from the intricate forms of lichens, bringing a tactile connection to nature into everyday life. The surface is alive with expressive glazes and layered slip detailing, reminiscent of lichen colonies spreading across bark. Earthy ochres, soft sages, muted blues, and blush tones sit against a warm speckled clay body, creating a rich, weathered palette inspired by lichens found around the studio. Bubbling and crawling glazes add depth and texture, echoing the irregular patterns and growth found in nature. Both functional and decorative, the bowl’s generous form makes it perfect for serving, sharing, or daily rituals. Its balanced shape and tactile surface invite touch, while the organic detailing ensures that no two pieces are ever exactly alike.
