Policies on Physical Items

Returns and Refunds 

If you cancel the order 14 days after receiving the item, providing the item is shipped back within the next 14 days(Total 30 days) and in correct order a refund will be processed within 14 days of the item being returned.

In person returns will need a proof of purchase (Zettle receipt if bought by card) or in original packaging by the original customer within 30 days of purchase. A full refund or exchange will be offered. 

If you have received the piece and no longer want it a replacement or refund will be offered.

Items are lost in the post for more than 30 days, a refund or replacement will be offered.

Customer covers all additional postage costs for returning of pieces and swapping of pieces. No refund or replacement will be given if the piece returns damaged though improper packaging.

 

No Refunds are given if;

Buying reduced price wares, such as 2nds 

Damaging the piece through improper use

Further damage due to trying to repair it yourself

Repairs and Replacements

If an item arrives to you broken or damaged straight out of the postage box, photos will be required, a replacement item will be sent with no additional cost.

If an item becomes faulty over time a repair or replacement will be offered as long as the piece has not been used improperly or broken through wear and tear. 

Shipping

Items are posted twice a week using royal mail 2nd class postage. Typically arriving 2 to 5 days later. All shipping costs are included in the price. UK orders only 

Policies on Pottery Experiences

The Studio
Please wear appropriate clothes for the weather and for clay, all pottery experiences are held in the cosy studio shed, many pictures on the website. If the weather is nice we will spread out onto the decking area. If the weather is cold we will be in the shed, it has a fan heater but can become quite cold. 

Short Pottery Experiences - One Hour up to One Day
Booking short pottery experiences via the website you will fill in the booking form, an email will be sent to confirm your booking, if the dates or time are unavailable, alternates will be offered.

If both parties (IMS Ceramics and the customer) accept the date/time an invoice will be sent. The total is payable by BACS no later than 72 hours before your Pottery Experience. If booking less than 72 hours full payment is due immediately.

​On short pottery experiences full refunds are given to those who cancel 72 hours before the experience. Credit will be given to those cancelling less than 72 hours before their experience (Credit can be used on future booking)
Date changes are allowed up to 3 times if 72 hour notice is given, failure to attend on the third date change will result in a loss of money with no refund. Once dates have been agreed to change, no refund credit will be offered.
Non attendance with no communication will result in no refunds/credit and we reserve the right to not offer alternative dates. 

Pieces will be ready to collect 6 to 8 weeks following the experience. Postage can be arranged on the day of the experience with an additional cost. Non collected pieces will be held onto for 6 months, with up to 6 attempts to contact you through email and/or phone number. After this period they will be disposed of. ​

If your pieces are irrevocably damaged after your experience before they have been fired, you will be invited back to remake them at no cost. If your pieces are damaged in the post, a replacement will be offered. 

Longer Pottery Experiences- Multiple Session Courses
Once booked, an agreement of dates and times will be conducted for all the sessions whether it's 4,6 or 8. To secure your place a 20% non refundable booking fee is required, to cover admin, diary management and preparory work carried out before your session. 

This amount is not deducted from any future refund and is retained in all circumstances.


The full payment is due by BACS no later than 7 days before your start date. Once booked you can change a date up to 3 times, the full amount of sessions must be completed no later than two months after the agreed end date. Failure to attend within the time period no refunds/credit will be given. Once dates have been changed no refunds/credit will be offered.

Cancelation of the longer pottery experiences can be done 7 days before start date with a refund being offered (minus deposit) . Cancellation after the 7 day refund window or cancelation half way through, you will be offered alternative dates or credit to use on future booking. 

Non attendance with no communication will result in no refunds/credit and we reserve the right to not offer alternative dates. 


After completing the Pottery Experience your pieces will be ready to collect 6 to 8 weeks after. Non collected pieces will be held onto for 6 months, with up to 6 attempts to contact you through email and/or phone number. After this period they will be disposed of. 

IMS Ceramics reserve the right to cancel a course or session up to and including 7 days prior to the start of the date of the course we will strive to give as much notice to booked participants as possible. The studio shall not be responsible or liable for any delay in or failure to run sessions if such delay or failure is due to any cause beyond our reasonable control.

Individuals booked onto a cancelled course will be given the option of a full refund or of rescheduling to a future course date. The Studio will not be liable for any losses or expenses arising from amendments to the course or cancellations.

In the case of a teacher becoming ill or having an emergency, IMS Ceramics reserves the right to cancel a course or workshop up until the start date.
IMS Ceramics reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to close the Studio at any time during the year.

Gift Certificate Policies 

Gift Certificates

Gift Certificates are  purchased in person or via email and are valid for 12 months. 

Failure to contact before the 12 month expiry date stated on the certificate will result in a non refundable non returnable gift certificate, there is an option to provide informatin of the purchaser to be contacted to remind their gifter. If this information is surplied, you will be contacted before your certificate expires with a expiration date reminder. 

Gift Certificates are valid for a specific monetary value, or specific Pottery Expereince. If they are a monetary value they are redeemabole in person at IMS Ceramics Studio or at markets/fairs. Pottery Experience certificates are redeemable for their stated pottery experience to be contacted via email or submission form.   

Once the booking has been made the previously stated Pottery Experience/ Physical items terms and conditions apply.
